And even if Hummers are no longer mass-produced, don?t be too surprised if you get to see a Hummer-based Warthog driven around the Redmond campus.
If that name sounds familiar, it?s because Microsoft has used such a vehicle in its popular Halo 4 game, so creating a full-scale replica was basically a pretty smart marketing move.
The real Warthog has all the things you would ever need inside a car, including 49-inch tires. That?s right, 49-inch tires to climb on? well, everything. Based on the Hummer H1, the car is a two-seater pickup that uses a 6.5-liter V8 diesel engine and a four-speed automatic transmission. Sadly, the maximum speed is limited to only 25 mph (40 km/h).
According to LA Times, the vehicle was created using 3D renderings created by Halo 4 developer 343 Industries, so the real Warthog looks pretty much the same with the virtual one.
